Like so many other skill position players in the NFL, Robbie Anderson is riding the single-digit trend and upgrading his jersey from No. 11 to No. 3 for the upcoming 2022 season.

Anderson has worn No. 11 every season of his six-year career, but will make the switch in his third season with Carolina.

On Monday, the Panthers updated their official roster with jersey numbers for returning veterans and new free agent recruits. Along with Anderson, quarterback PJ Walker and defensive tackle Daviyon Nixon also change their numbers. Walker will drop from #6 to #11 while Nixon will drop from #94 to #54.

New receivers Andre Roberts and Rashard Higgins will be numbers 18 and 17 respectively, while running back D’Onta Foreman will be number 33. Punter Johnny Hekker will continue to wear number 6, which has been his number for 10 years . of his NFL career.

New guard Austin Corbett will wear No. 63. Center Bradley Bozeman is No. 56. The Panthers also signed offensive tackle Wyatt Miller and undrafted tight end Jared Scott, who attended rookie minicamp. Miller will wear #67 and Scott will wear #43.

NFL players are changing jersey numbers more frequently since the league changed its numbering rules. Last April, the league began allowing running backs, receivers and tight ends to wear any number between 1 and 49, and any number between 80 and 89.

As a result, DJ Moore went from No. 12 to No. 2 last season.

Other notable number changes in the league include Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook moving from No. 33 to No. 4. Lions wide receiver DJ Chark will also wear No. 4. The second-year wide receiver of the Ravens Rashod Bateman goes from No. 12 to No. . 7.
